Hi!
I’m Lara: a passionate soul fueled by love, connection, and delicious food.
I’m a proud mom of two wonderful boys and, to me, life is all about sharing warmth, friendship, and unforgettable experiences. From a young age, I knew food was more than just flavor, it’s a way to bring people together and celebrate culture, tradition, and joy.
Growing up in a family where food was central (with a talented mom in the kitchen and a dad running a roasted chicken restaurant), I found my spark early. At 12, I was whipping up quirky dishes and baking cakes for my friends, filling our home with laughter, chaos, and happiness.
This is me! Always asking questions, trying to communicate and most importantly: always caring and smiling.
Food is my love language, and through it, I invite others to explore the rich, soulful gastronomy of my beautiful country by the sea.

💫 Lara, our founder, is the spirit and heartbeat of Papa Mia. Raised with joy around a Portuguese table, she turned childhood memories and deep affection for good food and good people into her life’s work. Enthusiastic, warm, and endlessly curious, Lara brings together the best of both worlds: people and flavor, to create unforgettable moments.
⚡️ Joana brings that spark! Full of energy and always impeccably organized, she makes sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. With her signature smile and a touch of creativity that elevates every detail.
🍃 Cláudia is the kind soul who listens deeply and shares generously. With a true passion for gastronomy and history, she guides each experience with tenderness, patience, and a belief that every connection makes the world better. Her kindness leaves a lasting mark on all who meet her.
And that’s not all. In Porto, Faro and Funchal, our talented chefs and guides embody the same spirit of immersion, hospitality, and authenticity. Every team member lives the philosophy of Papa Mia: to work with heart and to serve with soul.
